NCCE CONDUCTS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR CHAIRMEN / DIRECTORS OF DAIRY COOPERATIVE SOCOITIES OF INDIA DURING 23-25 April, 2018 AT NCCE, NEW DELHI
The programme was inaugurated by Sh. Lakhan Lal Sahu, Chairman, Chattisgarh Cooperative Union and Governing Council Member of NCUI, New Delhi. Sh. Sahu in his address felt that Dairy Cooperatives in India are working progressively. However, there is a need of professional aspects for effective functioning. He also felt that there is a need of good governance, technological changes, effective communication and involvement of more number of farmers in this sector for growth and development.
Dr. Bushan Tyagi, Assistant Commissioner, GoI, MoAH&D has emphasized that cooperative dairy sector needs more focus on the issues related to policy, programmes & schemes of GoI and taken the advantages of the sector.
Besides these, deliberations were made by the experts from Government of India and different renowned institutions for qualities for effective cooperative leadership, role and responsibilities of board of directors in dairy cooperative societies, feeding, breeding care and management of milch animals, recent changes in cooperative law, experience of central sector scheme for promotion & development of dairy cooperatives, understanding of financial statement and maintaining different account books of society, effective governance for cooperatives were discussed. The participants interacted in each and every session, and brought some suggestions.
As a part of the training programme, a study visit was undertaken by the participants to Mother Dairy Plant, Patparganj, New Delhi. The senior officials of the said plant welcomed the participants and Sh. R.K.R. Pillay, Senior Superintendent, Mother Dairy Plant, Patparganj explained the overall view of how the milk is processed alongwith the technicalities and other products. He accompanied the participants to visit the all the units of the plants.
The participants also got inputs from the programme about latest technologies, responsibilities in the management of dairy cooperative societies & challenges come across for working of the societies. The programme was concluded on 25th April 2018. Dr. A. R. Srinath Deputy Director & Course Coordinator proposed a vote of thanks on the occasion.
