NCUI Hosts Ministerial Delegation from the Republic of Mauritius on 03.08.2026
The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) had the privilege of hosting a high-level Ministerial Delegation from the Republic of Mauritius. The delegation comprised H.E. Mr. Sayed Muhammad Aadil Ameer Meea, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Industry, SME and Cooperatives (Head of Delegation), Mr. Raj Kishore Bunjun, Permanent Secretary, and Mr. Mohammad Zahir Arshaad Hyda, Advisor. The delegation was accompanied by H.E. Dr. Manoj Nardeosingh, Secretary General, AARDO, and Dr. Khushnood Ali, Head, Research Division & Programme Coordinator, AARDO.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Shri Pankaj Srivastava, IRS, Chief Executive, NCUI, through the presentation of shawls and mementoes. This was followed by an introduction of the officials of NCUI and the distinguished members of the visiting delegation.
In his Welcome Address, Shri Pankaj Srivastava highlighted NCUI’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement and fostering international cooperation. He also highlighted the various initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation Govt of India towards revamping the cooperatives at the grassroots. Thereafter, Shri Ritesh Dey, Executive Director, NCUI, delivered a presentation on the Status and Reforms in the Cooperative Sector in India and the Role of NCUI, showcasing India’s cooperative achievements and ongoing reforms.
The programme featured insightful addresses by Hon’ble Minister H.E. Mr. Sayed Muhammad Aadil Ameer Meea who shared the various initiatives of the Ministry and the efforts of the Govt of Mauritius to transform towards service oriented economy. H.E. Dr. Manoj Nardeosingh, Secretary General, AARDO, who emphasized the importance of international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strengthening cooperative institutions for sustainable and inclusive development.
An engaging discussion was held during which both sides deliberated on best practices, institutional cooperation, and opportunities for enhancing collaboration in the cooperative sector. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Sandhya Kapoor, Director, NCUI, followed by a networking lunch and a group photograph.
The visit further reinforced the longstanding relationship between India and Mauritius and reaffirmed the shared commitment of NCUI and AARDO towards promoting cooperative development through international partnership and mutual learning.
